Name and Composition - Hydrous magnesium silicate: Mg3(Si4O10)2.nH2O.

Physical Properties - Yellow brown or green coloured micaceous mineral occurs in platy book from. Its typical property is that, it expands on heating.

Mode of Occurrence - As books with pegmatities.

Uses - It is used in preparation of fire resistant boards, doors, bricks and plasters. It is also used in sound proofing, insulation, water treatment, biomass supported cation exchange, drilling mud, pesticides, modules product etc. As a filler in paint and lubricants. Used as soil conditioner and fertilizer.

Mineral based Industries – Refractory bricks, insulation boards, pulverisers.

Industrial Prospects – Nil, as production is almost negligible.
